The group’s research activity aims at developing new optical methods for the ultrasensitive detection of physical and chemical observables. Most of the devised systems rely on the integration of solid, liquid or guided optical resonators
in the measurement scheme, combined with opto-electronic strategies to reduce the detection noise. The methods demonstrated in the various activities show a great potential towards applications like strain-acoustic measurements,
inertial sensing, liquid spectroscopy and biosensing.
